Club Med Tinley Manor: What's Opening on the Dolphin Coast in 2026

Club Med Tinley Manor opens on 4 July 2026. South Africa's first Club Med resort, R2.1 billion of investment, 411 rooms, an oceanfront site north of Ballito, and global bookings live since October 2025. It is the largest hospitality build the country has seen since Sun City, and it lands in a stretch of coast most international travellers had never heard of two years ago.

What it costs

• Excursions: additional, priced individually.

This is fair pricing for an international-standard all-inclusive: meals, drinks, kids' clubs, surf school and most activities are bundled into the rate. What Club Med Tinley will offer

The resort runs the standard Club Med all-inclusive model. Three accommodation tiers across 411 rooms: 310 Superior rooms, 35 Deluxe rooms, and 66 suites in the premium Exclusive Collection Space, ranging from 70 to 180 square metres with a dedicated concierge, exclusive pool and champagne service from 6pm.

The activity programme is unusually substantial, even by Club Med standards. Tinley is home to the brand's first surf school anywhere in the world, with lessons available for all levels from age four. Three pools serve different guests. The main L-shaped pool faces the ocean. The family pool sits adjacent to the children's club and the trapeze. The safari component: Vikela Safari Lodge

Tinley is one half of a dual-destination concept. The other half is Vikela Safari Lodge, set within an 18,000-hectare private Big Five game reserve near Pongola in northern KwaZulu-Natal, around four and a half hours by road from the beach resort or 45 minutes by scheduled charter flight.

The lodge has 75 luxury tented rooms: 55 family tents and 20 adult-only tents, capped at 225 guests per night to keep the experience intimate.
